The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted NEET UG 2020 throughout the country on 13 September 2020 for 15.97 Lakhs registered candidates. However, as per the revised SOP of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the candidates who were either COVID-19 positive or in containment zones as of 13 Sep 2020 had to appear the NEET UG exam on a later date, in view of the safety of other candidates and exam personnel.
In view of the above, the Honorable Supreme Court of India had been approached by the NTA for permission to conduct NEET UG 2020 Phase 2 for the COVID-19 affected candidates, who were either COVID-19 positive or were in containment zones and approached NTA, as well as for any such candidate who may approach the applicant 24 hours before the commencement of the exam with certificates from the competent authority regarding their COVID-19 status or being in the containment zones at the relevant time.
The Honorable Supreme Court has allowed the NTA to conduct NEET UG 2020 Phase 2 on 14 Oct 2020 for the candidates who could not appear in the NEET exam on 13 Sep 2020 for the above-mentioned candidates.
Accordingly, the NEET 2020 Phase 2 for aforesaid candidates is going to be conducted on 14 Oct 2020 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and the combined NEET 2020 result would be declared on 16 Oct 2020.
NEET UG is a common entrance exam conducted for determining the merit of the students for MBBS admissions in India.
