The University Grant Commission (UGC) has warned all the medical aspirants across the country, especially from Rajasthan not to take medical admissions in one of the medical colleges in Rajasthan 'Singhania University' located in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. UGC in its recent public notice released on an earlier date has mentioned that all the students holding such unrecognized degrees from Singhania University cannot register for practice.
UGC also mentioned that, Singhania University is running courses in Modern Medicine without prior permission of Central Government/ Board of Governors in Super-session of ‘Medical Council of India’/National Medical Commission. The letter by UGC was issued based on a letter sent by the Higher Education Secretary of the Rajasthan Government.
The letter issued also mentions that the Secretary of Higher Education has issued a warning and informed all the students and parents not to get admission in MBBS, MD, Diploma in Medicine etc. programmes run illegally by the Singhania University.
Singhania University came into existence on 21st October 2007 and covers an area of about 30 acres of land. It offers a number of medical, Para-medical, Pharmacy and Veterinary courses.
