NEET Application and Verification Process to get Stricter

Date: 30-Nov-2019

With more than 6000 MBBS admissions in Tamil Nadu under scanner, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is making NEET 2020 application and verification process even more stringent.

This time, applicants will additionally have to fill in their 10th Class and 12th Class Roll Numbers, upload their Identity Card apart from a live photograph to detect impersonation. At the exam centre, candidates may also be asked to show to the identity card uploaded during registration. The NTA is waiting for the approval of the Ministry of Information Technology for Aadhaar Verification.

The registration for NEET UG 2020 will commence from 2 December 2019. According to an official of HRD Ministry, the NTA is going to introduce several changes in the NEET registration process so that the agency will have sufficient data to verify, match and flag cases of possible discrepancies.

According to NTA, the registration will be reopened for editing which means the applicants who will be appearing for 12th exam will be able to provide their 12th Class Roll Numbers as majority of the education boards will issue Hall Tickets/Admit Cards after the NEET 2020 registration closes.

The NTA shall be conducting NEET 2020 on 3 May 2020. This time, candidates who are interested to apply for AIIMS and JIPMER are required to appear for NEET exam.
