Last Date to Apply for MBBS in Kerala is 25 Feb 2020

The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has released notification for applying to MBBS/BDS course in Kerala (KEAM 2020). The last date to apply is 25 Feb 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

Nativity: Only Indian citizens are eligible for MBBS admission unless otherwise notified. PIO/OCI will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation. Candidates seeking admission to Professional Degree courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I) and Non-Keralite Category II (NK II).

Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’.

Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorized as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I).

a) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala.

b) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years.

c) A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5 (five) years within the period of 12 (twelve) years of his/her study.

d) A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.

In order to prove that the candidate is a Non-Keralite Category I (NK I), candidate has to upload the relevant proof along with the online application.

Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]: Candidates who do not come under ‘Keralite’ or 'Non-Keralite Category I' will be categorised as ‘Non-Keralite Category II'.

Steps to Apply for KEAM 2020

  1. Visit official website
  2. Click on Registration and fill in details to generate Application Number and Password
  3. Proceed to fill up complete details in the application form
  4. Submit the Application Details
  5. Make the Application Fee Payment of Rs. 500 (for General) and Rs. 200 (for SC)
  6. Upload Photo, Signature, Date of Birth proof and Nativity proof
  7. Take a Print out of the Confirmation Page
  8. Candidates who want to take admission on NRI quota seats available in Private Self-Financing Medical/Dental colleges and Minority quota (Christian/Muslim) seats in MBBS/BDS courses in self-financing colleges having minority status should submit the required documents on or before 29.02.2020, 5 pm.

Candidates seeking BDS/MBBS admission in Kerala should compulsorily appear and qualify in the NEET 2020 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). After the declaration of NEET result, candidates are required to update their NEET result in their Kerala MBBS Application.
