Diplomate of National Board Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test (DNB PDCET) is a ranking examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to various post diploma DNB courses. It is a Postgraduate Master's degree course same as MD/MS degree awarded to the Specialist Doctors in India after completion of three year residency. Candidates who have completed an MD/MS program in their respective subjects are also eligible to appear in the final DNB certification exam along with regular DNB trainees.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed the final exam of PG Diploma exam for a postgraduate diploma from a recognized Indian university.
Candidates must possess a proof of having passed/ passing the postgraduate diploma final examination on or before November 30, 2020.
Candidates must have been registered with the Medical Council of India(NMC) or respective state medical council.
Candidates who have qualified PG Diploma exit examination and would be getting their results after November 30, 2020, will also be eligible to apply for DNB PDCET 2021.
Candidates already pursuing an MD/MS/DNB course will NOT be eligible to appear for DNB-PDCET 2021 exam.

How to Apply?

Candidates desirous of appearing in DNB PDCET 2021 are required to apply through online mode only. The steps involved in the online application are as follows:

Basic registration: Candidates are required to do the basic registration with necessary personal information.
Filling the Application: Candidates are required to fill up the application by entering their personal, academic and MBBS qualifications.
Uploading scanned documents:  Candidates would be asked to upload scanned images of their signature, photo and required documents in the application. 
Test Centre: Candidates can choose the test centre according to their choice and convenience.
Application Fee Payment:  Payment of application fee should be done after the selection of test centers.

Exam Syllabus

The questions framed for the DNB PDCET Entrance Exam is based on different subjects. The subject-wise distribution is as follows:

1. Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology - 75 Questions

2. General Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry Radiotherapy, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Orthopaedics & Radiodiagnosis - 70 Questions

3. Community Medicine, ENT & Ophthalmology - 40 Questions

4. Paediatrics - 15 Questions

Counselling Details

DNB PDCET Counselling is done in three online rounds followed by an offline round. Qualified candidates can participate in the counselling conducted by NBE. Eligible candidates will be able to select and arrange their preference of college only after paying the prescribed DNB PDCET counselling fee of Rs 2500/. The seat allotment will be done according to the score and choices of the candidate. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will be required to upload the relevant certificate to substantiate their claim or else they will be considered under the unreserved category. Those candidates who don’t get a seat in the first three rounds will be eligible for the final round counselling.
